I’m just glad no-one was here to witness the happy dance I did as I finished this blouse. I cannot put into words how much I love it – the perfect nude shade, the perfect pattern, and it’s even machine-washable!
Pattern: Sew Over It’s Pussy Bow Blouse.
Style: as it says on the tin!
Instructions: as usual, their instructions were perfect – really easy to follow. I had no issues.
Sizing: I cut the smallest size on this, which is a size down from my measurement size, because I didn’t want it to be too blousy when tucked in. I think this was the right call for how “fitted” I like mine, especially since I won’t really be wearing it untucked. If you like it roomier you could stick to your actual size.
Alterations: I added about an inch to the sleeve length. I also French seamed inside.
I did find that the neckline was only just able to go on over my head (I think I have a big one!) so I sort of bodged lowering it by about an inch. I made a note on the pattern so next time I will do this more elegantly.
Time taken: not much! I had the bodice completed by the end of the boys’ nap time on day one (so at most about an hour and a half) and the same for the sleeves and finishing touches on another day.
Would I recommend it?: 100%! I’ll definitely be making more for myself too.
Overall? I love, love, love this. Instant wardrobe classic, hopefully I’ll be wearing it for years to come. Maybe I should make up another one in the same fabric in case anything ever happens to this one! Hmm..
