The final few months of 2018 have been quite hectic for me, and I haven’t been able to eke out as much sewing time as I would have liked. However, I am very pleased to have finished two items before the end of the year – a couple of Sew Over It Cocoon Coats!
This month I made Simplicity 8749 trousers for another Minerva Crafts Blogger Network* (“MCBN”) post. You can read about the project and the beautiful fabric on the MCBN website here, and I thought I’d give you a bit more detail here about my approach to fitting the trousers in this post.

For the first time ever, I made the same pattern twice, literally back to back. I was so happy with my first Sew Over It Coco Jacket that I went straight on to make another one from a black Linton Tweed wool that I’d been holding onto for exactly this purpose.
