September Separates

For this month’s Minerva Crafts Bloggers’ Network post, I finally got around to making another Sew Over It Pussy Bow Blouse, and it reminded me how much I liked this pattern the first time around! I paired it with a pair of trousers made using Vogue v9189, a reprint of a vintage (circa 1960!) Vogue pattern.

For the blouse, I used a fabulous ivory crepe from Minerva Crafts, and I made a few minor adjustments to the pattern this time around:

  • I cut the front on the fold rather than having a seam at center front;
  • I tweaked the collar tie to make it a bit wider in the ‘looped’ bits than along the neckline or at the ends; and
  • Instead of gathering the sleeve hems into cuffs, I turned them under and sewed an inverted pleat.

Here’s a close up of those pleats!:

You can read all about this project (including the trousers) on the Minerva Crafts Bloggers’ Network here.
